The LORD is our God, the LORD alone! Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you today. (Deuteronomy 6:4-6)
For me, prayer is an upward leap of the heart, an untroubled glance towards heaven, a cry of gratitude and love which I utter from the depths of sorrow as well as from the heights of joy. (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)
"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God." But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will, or "out of the depths" of a humble and contrite heart? He who humbles himself will be exalted; humility is the foundation of prayer. Only when we humbly acknowledge that "we do not know how to pray as we ought," are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer. "Man is a beggar before God." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2559)

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds, hide me.
Let me never be separated from you.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
In the hour of my death, call me,
And bid me come to you,
That with your saints I may praise you
Forever and ever. Amen.
Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God; in our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Most High, glorious God,enlighten the darkness of my heart and give me, Lord, a correct faith, a certain hope, a perfect charity, sense and knowledge, so that I may carry out your holy and true command.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let Us Pray
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Queen of Heaven rejoice, alleluia:
For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia,
Has risen as He said, alleluia.
Pray for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
Because the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.
Let Us Pray
O God, who by the Resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, granted joy to the whole world: grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may lay hold of the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement! O loving! O sweet Virgin Mary!
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

The Apostles' Creed
On the Large Bead before Each Decade:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the 10 Small Beads of Each Decade:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Concluding Doxology: (after five decades)
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Three times)
O my God, since You are with me, and I must now, in obedience to Your commands, apply my mind to these outward things, I beseech You to grant me the grace to continue in Your presence; and to this end do You prosper me with Your assistance, receive all my works, and possess all my affections.
Lord Jesus, you reveal your Father to the meek and the humble. By the working of your Holy Spirit, you led Blessed Joseph-Marie in the ways of prayer and self-sacrifice, in the heart of his community and by the aid of a spiritual father. Grant us faithful witnesses who will help us to answer your call, uphold us in the midst of suffering, and guide us into the joy of the Father, with whom you live and reign in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.
O My God, I beg You, by Your loneliness, not that You may spare me affliction, but that You may not abandon me in it.
When I encounter affliction, teach me to see You in it as my sole comforter.
Let affliction strengthen my faith, fortify my hope, and purify my love.
Grant me the grace to see Your hand in my affliction, and to desire no other comforter but You. Amen.
St. Therese, beloved friend, you promised to spend your heaven doing good upon earth. We come before you in our need. We believe that you listen to us and approach God for and with us. You are love in the heart of the Church. You are love in the heart of God. Please accept our petitions, hopes, needs, and dreams and present them to our Loving Father so that God may do what is best for us, for our loved ones, and for the fulfillment of God's Kingdom. [petitions] Continue your shower of roses in our lives. We ask you, dear friend, with the bold confidence and loving surrender you taught us. We make this prayerful petition in the name of Jesus and through the power of His Spirit. Amen.
Most blessed and beloved St. Pio, you were chosen to glorify the crucified Jesus through the visible wounds of the Cross that you bore for 50 years. And like our Lord Jesus, you demonstrate your great love by sharing the many gifts bestowed upon you -- especially the gift of intercession.
Because of your great friendship with the Lord, He responds to your requests and blesses those you bless. I now add my prayer to the many prayers offered to you every day by those who seek your help to obtain healings and consolations, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body, mind and soul.
In your loving kindness, please bless my loved ones, and me, and intercede for this special request: [petition].
In your great love, Saint Pio, please continue to pray with us and for us.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. Amen.

Amen.

Novena Prayer
O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus and my Mother, penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession, manifested so often through the Miraculous Medal. I, your loving and trustful child, implore you to obtain for me the graces and favors I ask during this Novena, if they be beneficial to my immortal soul, and the souls for whom I pray. [here privately form your petitions] You know, O Mary, how often my soul has been the sanctuary of your Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for me then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will attach me to God alone so that my every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for me also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that I may recover by penance what I have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode where you are the Queen of angels and of all people. Amen.
An Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal
O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, I dedicate and consecrate myself to you under the title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. May this Medal be for me a sure sign of your affection for me and a constant reminder of my duties toward you. Ever while wearing it, may I be blessed by your loving protection and preserved in the grace of your Son. O most powerful Virgin, Mother of my Savior, keep me close to you every moment of my life. Obtain for me, your child, the grace of a happy death; so that, in union with you, I may enjoy the bliss of heaven forever. Amen.
O Mary, conceived without sin. Pray for us who have recourse to you. (3 times)
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time.
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being honored, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being praised, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being approved, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged, Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected, Deliver me, O Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
The two prayers taught by the Angel:
1. My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee. I ask pardon for all those who do not believe in Thee, do not adore Thee, do not hope in Thee, do not love Thee.
2. Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly, and I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. And by the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and those of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of all poor sinners.
The three prayers taught by Our Lady:
1. O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee; my God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
2. O my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy.
3. O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer this sacrifice to Thee.
The two prayers taught by Our Lord:
1. Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.
2. By Thy pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain for me the conversion of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the entire world.
What is a novena?
A recitation of prayers and devotions, private or public, during nine consecutive days (or, by extension, over a period of nine weeks, in which one day a week is set aside for the devotions) to obtain special graces, to implore special favors, or to make special petitions.
